how can i coat/cover a lead ring to make it safe to wear?
i made this really sweet lead ring made out of solder so its like 60percent tin and 40% lead. anyway i dont really want to risk getting lead poisioning so is there anything that i can cover or coat it in so it is safe? thank you for any help in advance.
Not really. Your body has acids in its sweat. That is how you can tell when you got a fake gold ring, when it turns green your sweat is reacting with the copper. So the same will happen with any coating you put on the lead ring. Why don’t you take the ring as it is and go to a Silversmith. Those ladies that make fancy custom rings . Maybe she can make the same out of silver. Or, she may have another solution to your problem. Give them crafters a go.
