do tropical fish need a standard lamp?
i got a tropical lamp for my fish 15w (arcadia) and it says that it is good for growing plants..i have no real plants in there..and my aquarium is in a sort of bright room(cant do anything about it)..i try not to have direct sunlight to it thought..but i was wondering..i got recently a led aquarium bulb..and the light is impressive..striking a big crystal ball and it looks fantastic..the normal light is too normal for my taste..would it be cool for the fish if i had in total 3 of them in different colors(still for 8 hours per day)?..would this drive the fish nuts or something?..do they really want a standard overall light, or these beams would do fine as well?(assuming that there is light in the room all day anyway)..

ps: i got guppies, catfish and shrimps in a 100ltr tank(if it matters)
I have no real plants in one of my aquarium but I leave my light on for about 8 hours. I get up in the morning, turn it on and then around dinner-time turn it off. I don’t think it would drive them nuts but you should probably check on them once an awhile and make sure they are doing OK. Good luck!
