What’s the best way to remove paint from an antique ceiling fan?
We bought and renovated a house built in 1921 and the oldest ceiling fan in the house has unattractive paint that was painted on by the prior owner to match the green color of the room in which it hung. It’s on the body and the blades. We’d like to remove it from all the surfaces. The fan is extremely heavy, cast iron we think, and has a switch on the bottom (no light fixture). We want to know whom we can take it to for restoration, how the paint removal should be done, whether we can do it ourselves, etc. Any of these points of information should be useful.
Paint remover,sand paper and a wire brush will do the job.
